Stoic Wisdom for Self-Love

I’ve recently begun to process the immense power of self-love and its impact on our lives, particularly when it comes to relationships. I’ve embarked on a journey to uncover the secrets to a more fulfilling, respectful, and empowering love life, and what I’ve discovered is nothing short of a game-changer.

I’ve decided to explore what Stoicism can teach us about knowing our worth in relationships. Surprisingly, Stoicism has a lot to offer on this front.

Control

The Stoics emphasized focusing on what we can control, and it turns out, our self-worth is entirely within our grasp. It’s not measured by the number of likes on Instagram or whether someone swipes right on us. It’s about how we perceive and value ourselves. Imagine you’re a rare gemstone. Not everyone recognizes the value of such a gem, right? Some might walk past it, not realizing its worth. But that doesn’t change the gem’s inherent value. Similarly, our worth doesn’t diminish just because someone fails to see it.
